A year ago, Gille brought the classic concept of “Seven sorts of cookies” into the 21st century with the introduction of a new design, colour and taste idiom. We are now launching another two great additions to the concept: Chess Cookies and Yummie Cookies.
Based on the findings from consumer surveys, Shortbread Biscuits and Ginger Biscuits are now being joined on the shelves by Chess Cookies and Yummie Cookies. The Chess Cookie – or perhaps “the king of cookies” – is a soft cookie with a lively flavour of cocoa and vanilla. A smart move for everyone who wants to add a touch of style to everyday life. The Yummie Cookie is an oat cookie with a twist. This crispy oat cookie with grated coconut and cardamom in perfect harmony is a tasty treat for all cookie lovers! The new cookies will be officially launched in the week of 6–12 May, and will be available in stores as from 6 May.

What’s the story?
According to tradition, it was considered stingy to offer only six different kinds of cookies, while it was viewed as extravagant to offer eight or more. Seven sorts of cookies was therefore the perfect number – neither too many nor too few. The custom has been observed since the end of the 1800s, and we are now passing the tradition on to new generations by presenting a mix of cookies people remember from the past alongside exciting new flavours and tastes.
