How Gille biscuits are made

Gille is proud of the Swedish ”fika” tradition (a short break) and has a fantastic assortment of traditional Swedish biscuits and cookies with great taste and quality.

Natural tastes are the hallmark of the classical Gille biscuits. We prefer to use Swedish high-quality ingredients as much as possible. Our bakers take great care choosing flour, sugar and syrup from Skåne, the most southern region in Sweden, and oats from the plains of Västra Götaland where it is said that the best oat is grown.

We strongly feel that our cookies and biscuits should be available to as many people as possible. That is why we bake all our biscuits and cookies without using additives, milk or trans fats. We also avoid the use of hazelnuts and peanuts. However, all of our products contain gluten since they are baked with genuine oatmeal and wheat flour. At this point in time, Gille has one sugar-free biscuit in the assortment, Gille Oat Biscuits sugar free. If you have an allergy, sensitivity or intolerance to a particular food, you should always read the ingredients list on the packaging cautiously. We always describe very carefully what our cookies and biscuits contain. We also have organic gingers snap baked with rapeseed oil.

In our two bakeries in Åsljunga and Örkelljunga in southern Sweden our 220 colleagues carefully bakes and pack more than 1.5 billion cookies and biscuits every year!

Gille is very popular in our home market Sweden. Our market share in Sweden is around 40 percent. Our cookies and biscuits are very popular in other countries as well. The biscuits and cookies we bake are exported to around 30 different countries around the globe.
